Techno is een elektronisch muziekgenre dat in de jaren 80 ontstond in Detroit en later wereldwijd belangrijk werd binnen de club- en ravecultuur. De stijl draait rond repetitieve ritmes, synthesizers, drumcomputers en een futuristische sfeer. Techno is op zichzelf geen gabber of hardcore, maar er is wel een duidelijke familieband via de bredere elektronische dancescene.<\/p>\n

Voor @Gabber<\/a><\/a> en @Hardcore<\/a><\/a> is techno vooral relevant als verwante basis binnen de elektronische underground. Vooral hardere vormen van techno, industrial techno en rave-techno hebben invloed gehad op de sfeer, machinesound en donkere clubenergie die later ook in bepaalde hardcorestromingen terugkwam. Toch blijft techno meestal trager, minder agressief en minder kickgedreven dan @Early Hardcore<\/a><\/a>, @Gabber<\/a><\/a> of @Uptempo Hardcore<\/a><\/a>.<\/p>\n
