De stijl combineerde invloeden uit <a class=\"hcmgp-mention hcmgp-mention-hcmgp_article\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hardcoremaniacs.be\/press\/gabberpedia\/artikel\/ebm\/\"><a class=\"hcmgp-mention hcmgp-mention-hcmgp_article\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hardcoremaniacs.be\/press\/gabberpedia\/artikel\/ebm\/\">@EBM<\/a><\/a>, <a class=\"hcmgp-mention hcmgp-mention-hcmgp_article\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hardcoremaniacs.be\/press\/gabberpedia\/artikel\/acid-house\/\"><a class=\"hcmgp-mention hcmgp-mention-hcmgp_article\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hardcoremaniacs.be\/press\/gabberpedia\/artikel\/acid-house\/\">@Acid House<\/a><\/a>, @[New Wave], industrial en vroege clubmuziek. New Beat klonk trager, donkerder en zwaarder dan veel andere dansmuziek uit die periode, met slepende beats, diepe bassen en een koude, bijna mechanische sfeer.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"477\" data-end=\"872\">Voor <a class=\"hcmgp-mention hcmgp-mention-hcmgp_article\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hardcoremaniacs.be\/press\/gabberpedia\/artikel\/gabber\/\"><a class=\"hcmgp-mention hcmgp-mention-hcmgp_article\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hardcoremaniacs.be\/press\/gabberpedia\/artikel\/gabber\/\">@Gabber<\/a><\/a> en <a class=\"hcmgp-mention hcmgp-mention-hcmgp_article\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hardcoremaniacs.be\/press\/gabberpedia\/artikel\/hardcore\/\"><a class=\"hcmgp-mention hcmgp-mention-hcmgp_article\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hardcoremaniacs.be\/press\/gabberpedia\/artikel\/hardcore\/\">@Hardcore<\/a><\/a> is New Beat belangrijk omdat het een Belgische schakel vormt tussen donkere elektronische clubmuziek en de hardere ravecultuur die later zou ontploffen in Belgi\u00eb, Nederland en Duitsland. Het is geen gabber, maar de sfeer, de industri\u00eble klank, de nachtclubcultuur en de drang om muziek harder en vreemder te maken, passen duidelijk in dezelfde ondergrondse familie.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"874\" data-end=\"1190\">Clubs zoals @[Boccaccio] en de Belgische dancescene rond die periode speelden een belangrijke rol in de verspreiding van New Beat.
