Het genre ontstond begin jaren 80 in West-Europa en combineert elementen uit <a class=\"hcmgp-mention hcmgp-mention-hcmgp_article\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hardcoremaniacs.be\/press\/gabberpedia\/artikel\/industrial\/\"><a class=\"hcmgp-mention hcmgp-mention-hcmgp_article\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hardcoremaniacs.be\/press\/gabberpedia\/artikel\/industrial\/\">@Industrial<\/a><\/a>, @[Synthpunk], @[Post-punk] en elektronische dansmuziek. Ook acts zoals @[Nitzer Ebb], @[The Klinik] en @[Vomito Negro] worden vaak met EBM en industrial dance verbonden.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1073\" data-end=\"1311\">Binnen <a class=\"hcmgp-mention hcmgp-mention-hcmgp_article\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hardcoremaniacs.be\/press\/gabberpedia\/artikel\/hardcore-maniacs\/\"><a class=\"hcmgp-mention hcmgp-mention-hcmgp_article\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hardcoremaniacs.be\/press\/gabberpedia\/artikel\/hardcore-maniacs\/\">@Hardcore Maniacs<\/a><\/a> is EBM vooral nuttig als achtergrond bij de donkere kant van de ravegeschiedenis.
